Paramount does Exist...

Email #24, Meridian, ID

Hey there FAM!

Things are starting to pick up here, and I am feeling the spirit so much more now. It’s kind of funny, everything you told me to do in your last email was pretty much what I did! I just decided to be me, not second guess myself, and reminded myself that it really isn't my job to fix people. That is between them and God, and it has been working great. Elder Matti is holding back on his jokes now, and he has been working harder as well. He's actually a pretty cool guy.

And yes Mom Paramount does exist, that's what our area is called. On the map it would be in Meridian. As to my mailing address you should have or will be getting mail from me. That's how I will usually give you my new address. lol So when I am moved just send mail through the mission office.

I am so excited for you Breck! Choir tour is the best memory I have of High school!! You are going to have a BLAST!! Don't go anywhere alone though, and try to have a strong guy with your group. Stick with Zach, I know he would do the best at protecting if anything happens. But Nothing will most likely. lol Just have fun!!

And tell the Soper’s I say hi and congratulations! I wish I could be there to celebrate but I obviously can’t so yaaa! lol And Kathy will be a great Grandma especially since she makes the best cookies in the world!!!!

This conference we are planning on spending it with members preferably at their house so we won't have to wear our suits. lol plus that's were all the snacks will be! I am very excited to hear what the prophet has to say and use it in my teachings!

Well That's all I got for this week. I will email next Tuesday. Thanks for your prayers and love, they were really felt this week. Stay cool!

Email #22 - Meridian, ID

Hello family!

Sorry about my last two emails seeming really harsh. to be honest this last transfer was a real downer for me. I'm just feeling overwhelmed with everything. I talked with Watson on the phone the other night; he's doing much better and was able to give me some good advice. "Just walk fast and have a huge smile on your face" is what he told me. You can always tell a good missionary by the energy he has. I'm also working twice as hard to have the spirit with me.

Man, I sound like such a crybaby now!! There is some good news though! We have been teaching people, and I can already tell one ward wants to help us. I just need to get hold of the ward mission leader and talk to him. There is a man in one ward Br Almon! He is a drummer and has a band and is very fun to talk to!

Thank you Mom also for reminding me that it is not my Job to "change" people. I am only a messenger, and a friend. That was something I really needed to hear. You always have just the right thing to say.

Now something miraculous: last Tuesday we had to go shopping and I had very limited funds. But just as we were at the checkout counter an older couple paid for our stuff! =D Thank you Heavenly Father!

Something humorous: Today all the elders in our zone got together and we played volley ball. I did pretty good. Then when we switched teams I noticed that most of the people on the other side were Tongan and everyone on my team was white and skinny. Long story short, we were DESTROYED!!!! lol I don't want to play sports with Tongans, they are very scary when they play!!

I am learning patience (mainly with myself.)

And your assignment is to pray for me to have the strength to get out of bed and have the energy to go!

Thanks for all you guys do! I pray for you every night. I love you all!

Now in Paramount (aka Meridian ID)

Email #21 - Meridian, ID

Hi everyone!

Ok I know this is going to be very sudden but I have been transferred and am now in a place called Paramount. It's a smaller area; we do not have a car, my new comp elder Matti doesn't have a bike so we are walkin’ it! It’s also snowing like crazy today. lol. I'm not up to date on this area just yet seeing as I got in hear just yesterday, what I do know is that there is almost nothing to do on Pdays. The other elders don't like sports, and the members spend a lot of their time working.

I'm glad to hear that Izaak is doing good! Keep up the positive attitude bud, The hard part is over! Hows Breck doing? I am keeping her in my prayers as well as the rest of you.

I don't have my new address memorized yet so I will send you a letter and you will then have it!

I love you guys, you can still write me at the mission address! I hope to hear from ya soon! Stay cool.

Ups & Downs

Email # 20 - Twin Falls, ID

HI!!!!!!!

Sorry I missed email last week, very very busy here in Twin now. There is snow everywhere again! It snowed for a day and a half; luckily we had the car on those days. Lol

Now where do I start? So much has happened. Ok, the sad news first. We have been visiting a less active woman named Sally, her two sons are very active, one is a Priest the other a Teacher, and I watch them bless and pass the sacrament every Sunday. She doesn't come to church and she is constantly blaming God for everything bad that happens to her including the death of her husband. Well Elder Mitchell left me a few Cd's and audio books, one being the conversion story of Glenn Beck and How to be totally miserable by John Bytheway! I lent her these two Cd's because they cover all of her concerns. I also gave her a Priesthood promise that if she would go to church her life would get better. Well we got a call from her the other day saying that it would be best if we didn't come over anymore and that her son will drop off my Cd's on Wednesday.

Now some happy news! We have a golden investigator named Michael who has a baptism date set! He is homeless so the bishop got him a job at DI and a room in a hotel. He has no means of transportation and has trouble reading, so we went out, bought him the Book of Mormon on CD, and took my old bike to the bike shop where the owner is LDS and he fixed it up perfectly! We then gave it to Michael who was happy as a 5 year old on Christmas! It felt so good to see how happy it made him! I love doing service!

Mom and Dad, I love you both. Thank you for everything, God bless you both.
